In the restaurant of the Salon de Bricolage, the first private club of Athens, the tone is set by the artworks placed on the walls in free composition, combined with custom-made black iron wall lamps. The imposing fireplace, with a frame in glossy black lacquered wood and a screen made of iron chains makes an impression and attracts around it the habitués of the club. It totally fits the philosophy of the place, which wants its members to enjoy an absolute freedom and feel at home. This is the spirit served also by the owner’s personal collections of books, records and objects. Canvas boards placed on the wall between the living room and the restaurant justify (a free translation of) the name of the club: Hobby Salon.
